IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

 

I am going to be leaving Vimeo due to complications that have arisen with their service and shifting to a new (better) platform. 

 

If you have purchased my programs already please make sure you download a copy to keep.  There is a download button on every video. You will have to re-purchase them on the new platform if you do not! Vimeo will remain online until New Years Day.

 

I will post some more details of the new service when I know them myself.

Thanks for the heads up re-content download. But as a user, given other content eg Kit's, this seems quite sudden. What is up?

Vimeo have implemented a policy saying that all VOD users have to submit a US tax return which is a huge giant pain.  They will withhold payments as of January if you haven't done it. Kit already does a US tax return so it may not affect him, but I have no desire to engage with it.

 

The alternative I am looking at is Uscreen, which is more powerful than vimeo and has way more features that I need.

That's kind of ridiculous unless your only intended audience is the US. Considering that when I visit the Vimeo site it's in Japanese, I'm guessing they are not trying to limit their audience to those in the US I have to submit tax returns in both Japan and the US and it's a massive pain in the neck. No wonder I keep having neck issues... thought it was my workouts, but...

Im having to change my company's business code to avoid having to do US "FACTA" registration; it's ludicrous!  But that Vimeo cant work around this issue is just plain lazy of them, Im sure there are workarounds...

I don't blame you. As much as I like the Vimeo style and interface, it's not the most friendly for Video on Demand. I'm currently going back and forth with their support regarding having to download each file individually, and them throttling the number of download requests, to the point where if I wanted to download a Master program, it would take me all day.

Also looking forward to doing the Uscreen thing, they have super sweet features.  I spoke to the guys on Friday, they are setting up my account now! Much work to be done this xmas break!
