Brett Anthony Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 3, 9, 11 and 12 sound awesome, but they are all extremely valuable topics. Can't wait.
Craig Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Passive Hanging Active Hanging Spinal Waves all recorded and commentary over the top done. Uploaded to Vimeo. I forgot you need a trailer before you can publish anything, so I'm going to sort that out tomorrow and then all 3 programs should be available. #antiTAF

vinca_minor Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 A pregnancy prep or prenatal stretching video would be greatly appreciated. and possibly quite popular. 1
Craig Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 I am in no way qualified to do that, but I believe kit has a book out already on the subject!

vinca_minor Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Thanks, Craig. We found that book and it's on the way. I was just thinking that would be a good subject for a follow along. My wife learns better being shown than told.
meow Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 hi. what about doing / updating traditional yoga poses the stretch therapy way? thanks.
Craig Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Things that are already done if you didn't see the posts: Hanging Series: - Passive Hanging - Active Hanging - Arch Hangs (not up yet, should be up in the next few days) - 1 arm hangs (not up yet, should be up in the next few days) Spinal Waves What would you like to see next? Things that are easy to do: - Linear wrist prep - Resting positions and transitions - shi da pan follow along Any other requests? Meow: I don't actually know what the yoga poses are, Kit or Wardman might be better suited to making this tutorial!
Emmet Louis Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 What would you like to see next? Things that are easy to do: - Linear wrist prep - Resting positions and transitions - shi da pan follow along Any other requests? Shi Da Pan, teach along. You teaching someone the movements in a follow along manner?
Craig Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Haha was that a question or a request. It can be like that if that's what everyone wants?
DSK Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I am very interested in anything related to breath, waves, and ballistic stretching. Looks like some good stuff in the works. A suggestion: with all these tutorials and follow-alongs coming out, I would love to see a purchase option for a "season pass" or "subscription," essentially a way to purchase all tutorials of a given type or timeframe for a bulk discount, like the one available with the hanging series. I don't know if vimeo makes it possible, but at the very least grouping tutorials together in various ways for a buck off each video versus a la carte would be great for those of us who want to purchase a lot of content from all of the teachers who have things in the works. I can have my work reimburse me for videos as professional development, and it's nice to submit a single reimbursement form as opposed to a bunch of $3-4 ones.
oliviaa Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Hi DSK Vimeo is working on introducing the subscription option. Cheers Olivia
CraigM Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Would really like a ballistic stretching follow along video I purchased the other 2 programs and they are great. You mentioned before in the shi da pan topic that there was alot more ballistic stretches you do, would be great to have it all on video.
Craig Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 Still learning how to do the technical parts of filming with minimal equipment/room to film in! never the less, things are getting done. just finished filming the wrist sequence (about 10 mins). This will be available probably this weekend as soon as I finish editing etc. These kind of single programs will be going for the price of a coffee, just like the spine waves! On the "to do as soon as possible" list: Ballistic stretching, presented in 2 parts, 1 will be an explanation of the concepts, and one will be a follow along of actually doing it with cues etc Follow along Shi Da Pan. This will require me to coordinate with some people, as I want Bendy Dave to be performing while I explain and point and poke and prod him 5 Basic Resting Positions, also presented in 2 parts like the Ballistic Stretching On the "to do as soon as the stuff above is done" list: Hangpocalypse - This will be the final part of the hanging series, which will be a follow along class going through some (but not all) of the materials presented in the 4 parts of the hanging series. (this will be free for the people who have already purchased the whole hanging series). Brachiation - Basic swinging techniques for one arm and two arm swinging. Some free stuff that will be available when I get around to it: Explanation of the yin/yang phases of practise Explanation of the angle I'm taking to all of this, including why I'm not being so precise with the reps/sets/etc (explorer's mindset). As always, this is an "open source" project. Love feedback and opinions. Several things I'm aware of/working on: The programs are going to get better as I get better at filming, editing, and methods of presentation. This also means that the initial programs are going to have issues. Not sure if I will go back and repair known problems (eg: focus in some videos just off, 3rd part of hanging series separates the pulling and holding elements but first 2 parts dont, bent arms in the arching hangs, etc), or if I will concentrate on simply releasing more material. As much as possible, I'd like to release programs that are requested before ones that aren't. Two things will interfere with this though, one is that sometimes it takes some effort to get all the pieces into the same spot to get the filming done, and if this is the case, I'll just do the ones that I can do rather than waiting and not doing anything. The second is that there are some concepts in some parts of the programs that simply aren't available anywhere else, but in my opinion are massively important. These are the programs that no one knows that they want yet, but they will definitely be of immense help to you.
[DW] Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Talking with Hammer about the above post yesterday also formed in my mind the order and formulate of my next few tutorials. The 3 Tutorials will be titled: Alchemical Stretching. These are drawn from my Physical Alchemy Syllabus. A number of them are strong, advanced practitioner versions (though some solo versions will be presented) - but they are powerful and great to work with if you have sufficient KQ and experience. There will be three ones to start with: • Alchemical Stretching: Legs Apart & Deep External Hip Rotators [6 Exercises] • Alchemical Stretching: Sagittal Plane Hip Openers [6 Exercises] • Alchemical Stretching: Upper Body Alchemical Stretches [~6 Exercises] Some of the new stretches include: 'Bat Wing' variant of the Human Crossbow, Super-charged Lev Scap Stretch, Seista Hip Flexor, The Emperor Pidgeon and Splayed Frog. I will add a couple more theoretical videos up on my Vimeo for free (to go with the '3-Phase Stretch Cycle Diagram' and 'Alchemical Stretching' ones already up) to complement and add depth to my approach to stretching. I have already filmed a decent chunk of these exercises, so with the aid of my alchemical-brother (Craig) I should be able to get them up soon. After this I will focus on my '5 necks' Product, which will be Instructional and include some follow along classes. [D]
Craig Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 well if it isn't """"simon"""". you should put the fetus as your profile picture here too so I remember that you're not a different simon
Keilani Gutierrez Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 what kind of software are you guys using for the video editing?
Craig Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Im using adobe premier, and photoshop for the posters etc
barna284 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 5 Basic Resting Positions, also presented in 2 parts like the Ballistic Stretching This! I'm trying to put together a small morning routine based on the "Big 3" (Shoulders, Spine, Hips). Your Hanging and Spinal Waves videos cover the first two...I just need some groundwork to work the hips a bit!
Craig Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Hi barna, Will do! In the mean time, here's a little drill you can use: from lying down on the back, get your students to come up with as many different ways of getting to their feet with out using their hands as they can. There are well over 50, my mother was able to come up with 15 or so on her first attempt (after telling me she couldn't go it naturally )
