Craig Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Off the back of the thread in the teachers forum, I figured it would be best to have a thread dedicated to videos that inspire you in your practice. Any kind of strength, conditioning, flexibility, movement, parkour, dance, gymnastics, bboying, whatever. I'll start with some dance that shows phenomenal bodily control and coordination, which is in my opinion one of the most important elements in personal practice (and actually some expressions of strength and flexibility that you don't notice because the dance is so well done!):
Geotrismegistos Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Wow! Their coordination is insane! This was a much needed topic. I will continue on a similar mood with my favorite cheerleaders
Biri Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 I would love to try human jump roping sometime! (no idea how to imbed videos ) 1
Craig Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 just put the video url and it will embed automatically. You will need to remove the 's' from https:// to make it work though 1
Adurst Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 something from my good friend rafe: That clip is what compelled me to contact him and start training. Clear that he sees the world differently, due to skill and creativity. I see obstacle...he see an object to inspire movement.
Craig Posted July 6, 2014 Author Posted July 6, 2014 Yeah he's definitely got an excellent view of movement and play I may as well post my other favourite clip of his: 1
JoachimG Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 So yeah...I'm speechless. I found this through Kit's Facebook, me training partners/friends don't really understand me, but this type of movement will always impress me more than a heavy lift or an impressive goal in sports. 2
Geotrismegistos Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Those Rafe Kelley videos are amazing. I also like to play/exercise in nature and take videos, and when i grow up i wanna be something like him @Biri:The chinese never dissapoint! Fantastic video.
Adurst Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Yeah he's definitely got an excellent view of movement and play I may as well post my other favourite clip of his Thanks for that....I love the apocolypica track. MvdB Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 There are many great movers in capoeira (and many shitty ones - I can testify as I was one of them for many years ). This guy, however - he's something else. It's not just about the movements per se, but the quality of movement. This guy floats, both in the air and on the floor. Love it.
Geotrismegistos Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 One finger balance on a bottle on some American show http://youtu.be/EIqFAkKuIjY
