The Impressive and Inspiring Movement/Strength/Flexibility/Dance Thread

Recommended Posts

Off the back of the thread in the teachers forum, I figured it would be best to have a thread dedicated to videos that inspire you in your practice. Any kind of strength, conditioning, flexibility, movement, parkour, dance, gymnastics, bboying, whatever. I'll start with some dance that shows phenomenal bodily control and coordination, which is in my opinion one of the most important elements in personal practice (and actually some expressions of strength and flexibility that you don't notice because the dance is so well done!):

just put the video url and it will embed automatically. You will need to remove the 's' from https:// to make it work though

something from my good friend rafe:

That clip is what compelled me to contact him and start training.

Clear that he sees the world differently, due to skill and creativity.

I see obstacle...he see an object to inspire movement.

Yeah he's definitely got an excellent view of movement and play :) I may as well post my other favourite clip of his:

So yeah...I'm speechless. I found this through Kit's Facebook, me training partners/friends don't really understand me, but this type of movement will always impress me more than a heavy lift or an impressive goal in sports.

There are many great movers in capoeira (and many shitty ones - I can testify as I was one of them for many years ;)). This guy, however - he's something else. It's not just about the movements per se, but the quality of movement. This guy floats, both in the air and on the floor. Love it.
