AndeL Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I just did this (standing hip flexor stretch). Awesome. Not going to the urinal could become a great practice! I am not shy at my desk... but still. Who said non-squat toilets are the enemy? Less splatter for me and the cleaners too. [Edited to add a bit more clarity - thanks JimP.]
[DW] Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Now you need to learn to take a shit from a one-legged 'Shaolin' horse stance..
AndeL Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Dave, thanks for the advice especially with humour, I think it multiplies the effect. I scaled this to one leg in squat on the seat (other on ground) for shitting. GOLD 30/30 squat challenge will be done in my already well established relaxation c-r practice (I am a dad).
AndeL Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 To continue the documentation of my learning on this topic. Inspired by Kit's post, my initial implementation of this as per the attached. I need to hold myself in support (on the porcelain) as a free squat is a bit too much first thing in the morning. These stools seem right for now, but higher ones might be better in the future. I think the learning that support is ok & appropriate scaling has helped me here. Sitting around at the Stretch Therapy workshop, also opened my mind to more potential positions of sitting - all very basic, but neglected for so long in my life. I had uncertainty on the first day of the workshop and learnt a lot about just basic sitting on the floor from attendees and Kit.
Kit_L Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 These look about the right height (you can see my post on these kind of toilets here: http://wp.me/p1QR8D-3s Make sure those stools don't slide you into side splits unexpectedly!
