nategoose
Last October I saw Kit do a manual manipulation on someone which he said was separating the gracillis muscle from one or more other muscles which it had become stuck to. The procedure involved the 'victim' in a seated split while Kit manipulated her inner thighs, one at a time, which was apparently very uncomfortable but resulted in an immediate increase in flexibility in the most flexible person that I know other than Kit. I let fear and the workshop schedule keep me from asking Kit to do this to me as well, but since then I have come to think that it would significantly improve not just my groin flexibility but also some lower back (SI joint) issues. This belief is based on having performed this on a friend who said that it made his back loosen up. My 'victim', like Kit's, was in a seated split position and achieved immediate increase in his forward bend rather than increase in split angle, which is what I was thinking Kit's 'victim' achieved. Sadly, my friend was unable to do this to me and I think that I'm the only one that I know who was at the workshop who is comfortable doing this and as best as I can determine it is impossible for me to do to myself. Kit, is there any information that you can provide about this? How is it similar/different to the stick rolling gracillis procedure (which I only just now discovered and have not yet tried).
