MeeMee Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I noticed the day after doing some stretching that on one side my inner ear feels different but not painful. Having a feel around the neck muscles it seems like the SCM is tighter on that side and the muscle around the lower jaw Is this a normal byproduct of these tighter muscles? If so how to lessen this?

MeeMee Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 I've given it some time but things aren't changing 🫠 I've noticed if I lay down flat and turn my to the affected side and open the jaw clicking occurs What stretches can I use to decompress that area? May I need to strengthen other muscles? I've noticed the SCM on the affected side is tight if I palpate it.
Kit_L Posted June 30 Posted June 30 It's too early to make that determination—it's been two weeks? Add this and report back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtH7lQrPoxU
MeeMee Posted July 4 Author Posted July 4 Thanks, this seems to have helped. I've noticed that sometimes if I'm on the floor and roll my head to one side and open the jaw there's a clicking sensation in the ear. The jaw exercises seemed to have helped though, interesting I will try these gently every other day and monitor how things are.
Kit_L Posted July 5 Posted July 5 The TMJ (temporomandibular) joint is just in front of the ear, so not surprising. And big, sometimes massive L–R differences are to be expected; the TMJ is the body's last option for balancing unbalanced forces around the spine. Yes, please monitor and report any findings—after a few weeks! It takes time for any of these techniques to be properly embodied.
MeeMee Posted Tuesday at 08:56 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 08:56 AM If anything it's got worse so I'm going to a dentist I also something get tingles in my lower lip now
Kit_L Posted Tuesday at 09:01 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:01 PM Do please report back with what the dentist suggests. And now your symptoms are suggesting Thoracic Outlet Compression Syndrome (TOCS). Try this: https://stretchtherapy.net/shoulder-pull-down/ If that is too intense, there's a floor version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8ko2hjOo_4& These two have helped many people.
