DeclanJ Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Hi, I have made some inroads with diet/stress over the past few years and doing pretty well with migraine frequency. My neck is pretty tight so I'm just wondering what is the big fish to target muscle/stretching wise for this in terms of migraines? And if someone could please help me understand the link/mechanism between tight neck muscles and migraines? I am also making good in roads with my hip flexors to help with Anterior pelvic tilt which I believe will help as well! Would be v appreciative if someone could help me here please Thanks!
Kit_L Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 @DeclanJ: you will benefit from developing a relaxation practise, a daily one. See here: https://stretchtherapy.net/relaxation-wiki/ And keep working on the hip flexors; when they are loose enough, the tension in your neck will lessen. The partner versions of the HF exercises are the best, and only need to be done once a week. Are you using the Overcome neck pain program presently? The big exercises that will have the strongest effect come later in the order, and please don't rush getting there. As for the causes of migraines, if you do a net search, the main information there is about triggers, which I am sure you know all about. My perspective is that whatever you can do to reduce tension in the whole body will help reduce the frequency and severity of this very debilitating condition.
DeclanJ Posted August 4, 2024 Author Posted August 4, 2024 Legend! Cheers. will look into the neck course for sure!
