Kit_L Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 Day 61; generally very tired. B x 30 x BW S x 30 x BW B x 30 x BW The End. 1
Kit_L Posted November 26, 2018 Author Posted November 26, 2018 Day 62, Goblet baithaks: 10 x 16Kg KB Barbell baithaks (really working the feet here; balance, compared to goblet Bs is much harder, with their higher COG): 10 x 30Kg 10 x 40Kg (5 x 40Kg) x 3 Goblet baithaks: 15 x 28Kg. Killer final set. Arms get a workout too. 1
Kit_L Posted November 28, 2018 Author Posted November 28, 2018 Day 63, Planned an easy one; so did the following: (SLSS x 10 x bodyweight) x 5 Turned out to be anything but easy; the last two sets were hard and the legs were really pumped. I am finding alternating SLSS, baithaks, weighted baithaks, and the various kettlebell variations to be extremely effective. I am seeing muscles on my legs that I have not seen for years! 2
Kit_L Posted November 29, 2018 Author Posted November 29, 2018 Day 64, a token effort I worked all morning in the front yard; I am very tired. B x 30 x BW, just to record something here. 1
Kit_L Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 Day 65, very busy, getting ready for the long boat trip back from Queensland; testing gear and starting to cook for trip. Goblet baithaks today B x 30 x 16Kg (B x 15 x 28Kg) x 2 Legs and glutes pumped. Enough for today. 1

Kit_L Posted December 1, 2018 Author Posted December 1, 2018 SLSSS coming up, for sure! Day 66, legs sore from the day before. Also, I was not aware that I was rostered on with Marine Rescue today, until I got the call at 07:05... So, after a long day out at sea, Back Squats (just to remind the body what these are!): no warmup, 40Kg x 15, full depth, good form, and that's all she wrote! 20 reps would have been doable but hard. 15 was easy, yet I felt the body was working. 2
Kit_L Posted December 2, 2018 Author Posted December 2, 2018 Day 67, Time to the big trip is getting shorter, day by day. I imagine (but nothing's certain in this life!) that Liv and I will be posting from the high seas, and I have been flat out preparing while she's been away. All a preamble for today's Q&D workout. Back Squats again ("BS"): BS x 40 x 5 BS x 45 x 5 BS x 50 x 5 BS x 40 x 20 That last set was killer bee! 2
Kit_L Posted December 3, 2018 Author Posted December 3, 2018 Day 68, waiting for Miss O's train to arrive: (30" Speed Skater Squats, alternated with SLSS) x 5 B x 30 x BW Legs sore from day 67. 1
Kit_L Posted December 4, 2018 Author Posted December 4, 2018 Day 69, Everything sore; no doubt some tension too, re. the forthcoming passage, open ocean. Brief play today, just to be able to post something! S x 30 x BW B x 30 x BW Even this was a bit taxing today! 1

Kit_L Posted December 4, 2018 Author Posted December 4, 2018 @SwissDanny? Time flies when you're having fun, brother! Thanks for the best wishes, too; it's not a walk in the park.
Kit_L Posted December 5, 2018 Author Posted December 5, 2018 Day 70, time pressing RDLs and baithaks (RDL x 50 x 10 + B x 16Kg x 20) x 2 Over and out
Kit_L Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 Day 71, on the eve of the Stretch Therapy for Performance workshop in Sydney; a token effort today. RDL x 50 x 10 + S x 20 x BW RDL x 50 x 10 + SLS x 16Kg x 1 + B x 20 x BW Legs definitely tired today! 1
Kit_L Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 Day 72, still sore and about to co-teach the STfP workshop in Sydney: B x 40 x BW; and that almost stopped me! Accumulated fatigue, I suspect. Nonetheless, some squats done. 1
Kit_L Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 Day 73, teaching all day, S x 30 x BW, just to say I did a few squats! 1
Kit_L Posted December 9, 2018 Author Posted December 9, 2018 Day 73, Day 2 of the STfP workshop, Many, many squats today, in too many varieties to mention, in the course of the workshop. Everyone's glutes sore from the standing hip flexor stretches of the day before. Decent side splits: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ad748wnfhboyee5/SS 091218STfp.jpg?dl=0 And the lunge hamstring final position wasn't too horrible: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ynbp68woqo9teti/Lungw hamstring.jpg?dl=0 All the Cossack and Skandasana squats really benefitted from the recent squat strength work, too; easier and lower. 3

Popular Post Kit_L Posted December 25, 2018 Author Popular Post Posted December 25, 2018 I have not posted for a while, and want to explain why. First, though, Merry Christmas to everyone, and our best wishes for the New Year; surely it will be an improvement on 2019! Shortly after my last post, Liv, Adrian (friend and ace diesel mechanic, and fellow crew member for trip back) and I drive 1,100km in a camper van to outfit and service Sea Biscuit. On the second day, I accidentally/carelessly pulled the engine room hatch down on myself, while standing in the engine room—my left hand was on the floor next to this hatch, which weighs about 30kg. It was a combination crush/sever injury: I nearly lost my index and middle fingers. I ascertained that all tendons were OK, and that no bones were broken, and then we went to work: Liv and I made butterfly bandages, pulled the edges of the profusely bleeding wounds together, bandaged the first two fingers, and got back to work. After doing all we could to get her ready, Tropical Cyclone Owen appeared and, combined with a massive low in the Bight, was the cause of all that horrendous weather the East Coast experienced recently (the one with the cauliflower-sized hailstones). Only today have I felt like doing any kind of exercise, so restarting the count. Day 1 SLS x 5 x bodyweight Ball of foot SLS, negatives, two sets of 5 SLS x 5 x 8Kg Best wishes to everyone for 2019 5
SwissDanny Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Merry Christmas Kit and Olivia! That will surely make for a few dinner stories going forward! I don't know many folk who would treat such mangled digits without going to A&E. I wish you a full and speedy recovery and safe passage when the elements permit. 1
Nathan Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 Ouch! I guess Sea Biscuit has already made her mark on you Merry Christmas! 1
jaja Posted December 25, 2018 Posted December 25, 2018 I’m sorry for your injury! Hope it’ll heal fast! Merry Christmas, supple people! 1
Mick Posted December 26, 2018 Posted December 26, 2018 Glad to hear everything is still intact, Kit. Merry Christmas to you and Olivia! 1
Kit_L Posted December 27, 2018 Author Posted December 27, 2018 Day 2, travelling as most Australians seem to do at this time of the year, 40 x bodyweight x B 30 x bodyweight x S
Kit_L Posted December 27, 2018 Author Posted December 27, 2018 Day 3, waiting in city park for Liv, (negative SLS x bodyweight x 5) x 2; definitely stronger in these. Multiple attempts to stand up from bottom position. BBs (coming out of the bottom position fast enough to leave the ground) BB x bodyweight x 20 SSs (same idea, but flat foot position) bodyweight x 15 modest jumps onto concrete blocks, ~around 450–600mm x 5; I feel like I have lost a lot of spring, so these are back on the menu. 2
