I have designed this from the ground up to be as user-friendly as I know how. It is meant for absolute beginners. Overcome back pain is suitable for all ages, and any physical condition. All instructions are self contained within the element exercises. There are lots of variations; everyone will be able to do one or more of the forms shown. It still feels like it has to heal a bit for the weight lifting, but normal day activity and low intenity movements are much better. Thank you! I was a very enthusiastic Oly lifter for years (but Jon V. will tell you not a very strong one; I do not have the right proportions and there's the leg length difference...). Anyhow, I am trialling and developing the exercises for BP, and they will be effective for you. This better reflects the dual nature of our work (and not coincidentally, this dual nature, spanning rehab. to performance, is one of the aspects of our work that make it hard to market simply). The old program has been "unpublished", in Vimeo's terminology; people who bought it will still have access to it in exactly the same was as before. Do both have the same content with the difference being that the 'individual' version is structured as lessons while the practitioner/teacher version is just the exercise videos like you have in the GST series? We did this because we had a lot of feedback from the group we are now calling "Individuals" say that they only wanted the follow-along material, and not the detailed explanations. Speaking more generally now, and as I touched on above, this has always been our "marketing" dilemma: our system spans simple follow-along through to detailed instructions, and rehab. through to performance optimisation. In the program being discussed, the detailed descriptions are for one side of the body only—and this did not suit the "I just want to be told what to do" crowd. And, further, many of these people went on to say that they did not have the time to go through three hours of video, and that the follow-along programs were too long... you can't win. So now we have divided the original material as Nathan describes: six short follow-along programs that do both sides of the body (and in some exercises, one's tight side a second time) and the full 14 exercises which teachers and practitioners will find very helpful is in the Teacher–Practitioner program. Ciaran, I recommend you buy the Teacher–Practitioner program, and I will send you a link for the follow-along programs as a 'thank you"! I feel having the multiple products caters for an expanding audience of wide ranging needs, is the solution. It's never possible to please everyone all the time. The material is so vast it's like an elephant! You can only eat an elephant one bite at a time. It is daunting to try and find 3 hours to watch all of it and then decide "I only need X amount of time out of that whole production." My clients have expressed they too balk at being given too much information in any given situation. In the end a few stretches and a short film clip have been the best way to get the information across. The price is so reasonable it has not been an issue. Keep it short and simple and I will find it much easier to promote the essential parts to my clients. I appreciate the great deal of effort and work that has gone into this evolution. micross Posted October 19, 2016 Share Posted October 19, 2016 Hi everyone...I currently need some advice to a couple questions: I do have a stiff lower back constantly (I am only 32) I frequently get lower back pain (usually on the right or left lower side) and have the flexibility of a block of concrete and rotation is not that free lol. Things I know: I have tight hip flexors, and hamstrings and Extremely tight upper thighs 1) am currently doing Liv's slo-flow routine for pancake and hip flexors once a week each should I continue doing this or should I put these on hold and start doing the overcoming back pain which I just purchased? 2) how many of the follow alongs do people on average choose to follow? You have just described one of the most common causes of low back pain. We have many free programs on my youtube channel (search for hip flexors and quads). I was originally thinking of purchasing the book as i thought it may come with a cd that takes you through the stretches but it didn't say on your website. And the description on the website about the book says that there is a DVD Update (now a download video) for the exercises, so not sure where you were looking. I was not sure if opening a new thread for my question was adequate enough, so I'm going to post my question here instead. It's been a few years since I purchased the whole Mastery series and I am quiet happy with it. But as of late it has come to my mind the need of purchasing a physical reference material about stretching (to keep in my shelf) and I was considering between 'Stretching and Flexibility' or 'Overcome back and neck pain'. So I was wondering if any of you have both of the books and could perhaps give me a brief distinction between 2 books so that I could choose one among the two. I'm afraid if that I buy both of the books there'd be too much information for me absorb among all the resources I already have and would most likely end up not using one of the books to its full potential. What I'm actually looking for is a reference guide with stretches for the whole body, probably more oriented towards beginner practitioners (although not obligatory), so that I could lend the book out to family and friends. From what I've seen in the brief description about both books on the website, it looks like 'Stretching & Flexibility' is more along the lines of a reference guide of what I'm looking for and 'Overcome back and neck pain' is the more popular beginner oriented book from Kit, I could be wrong about this though. Also it looks like 'Overcome neck and back pain' have more written about diagnosis while 'Stretching & Flexibility' is just a series of stretches. I guess my questions could be summarized as: What are the main differences from the 2 books? Is 'S&F' more whole body oriented than 'OBANP'? Any of the books missing any stretches out from the other?
