This is a very new workshop; only the third time it’s been offered so I thought a review would be in order. Disclaimer: Opinions expressed are my own. I’m a stretch Therapy teacher hence have a bias. The Summary (in case you don’t have time to read the full review): Blew my mind. Excellent workshop. Truly inspired me to take my stretch therapy studies to the next level. Not appropriate for novices of the ST method. If you haven’t been training the method for a while, you will not understand the subtlety of the material presented and this will just be “another stretching session”. The workshop is appropriately named since it is truly “deeper” into the stretch. Location: London, UK Venue: Laban Dance Academy Date: Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September, 2016 Times: Both days 9am – 4:45pm with 90 mins for lunch at 12:30pm. Number of Students: 35 Booking: Communication was through Olivia. Thorough and excellent as always. Location Review: We’ve used this location for all the London workshops since 2015. Lovely space. Content: This workshop is just Kit and Olivia giving us a small glimpse into their ST research over the last few years. That’s why it’s so inspirational. They have dug so much deeper into the fundamental movements and uncovered tons of wonderful stuff. What they actually present will vary from workshop to workshop depending on their research so there’s no point in describing all the stretches here. Suffice it to say there’ll be tons of neural and fascial stuff. Loads of roll stretch and lacrosse ball work too. I do not recommend novices doing back-to-back ITS / DITS weekends. Just take ITS, go away and work on the material and then come back for DITS 6 months later. You’ll get a lot more out of it. Trust me. Conclusion: This is a must for serious students of ST. I highly recommend taking this workshop. If you’ve spent a lot of time digging into ST and using it to develop your own body-mind then you’ll get a lot out of the weekend. It will re-inspire you to reevaluate all your prior stretching and look at it with a different perspective. It will help you add subtlety and depth to your practice.
